Often the images of photographers (painters, printmakers) who do not work within a recurring spatial or thematic framework are criticized as being disparate and without direction. Yet a writer may work on a novel, a play, a short story, and a poem, all unrelated and all at the same time, without derision of any kind whatsoever.
